Coaxing charming performances from an almost all-child cast, Spheeris has made a most entertaining and updated big-screen version of the Our Gang comedies. With no real plot to speak of, the story centers on the antics of the "He Man Womun Haters Club," and the fateful day when one of their own (Alfalfa) falls in love...with a girl. A pint-sized "battle of the sexes" comedy, Little Rascals's amusing screenplay gives the children ample opportunity to mug, flirt, sing, dance, race go-carts, blow bubbles and act like little big people -- all of which they do with an endearing quality.
