Princess Tam Tam: It's a musical Parisian Pygmalion! A French novelist travels to North Africa seeking inspiration but instead finds himself becoming steadily more infatuated and entranced by a native girl (Baker). She accompanies him back to Paris where, to everyone's amazement, she is the toast of the town. (French with English subtitles)

Sirens of the Tropics: Available only as a fragment for decades, Siren of the Tropics is Josephine Baker's feature film debut. Made in 1927, around the same time Josephine was making a Paris splash as a Folies Bergère star, Siren establishes the rags-to-riches, fairy tale template from which her subsequent films would be cut.

Zou Zou: A semiautobiographical piece with Baker as a poor laundress who finds her way out of the gutter. Her first film, Zouzou is a little short on substanstive plot, but Baker's presence nonetheless radiates and her musical numbers scintillate. (French with English subtitles)
