Review
Resurrection of Eve stars classic porn angel Marilyn Chambers who, at this point in the early seventies, looks absolutely gorgeous. The film is slower and more dramatic than other story-driven pornos of this era and contains less sex than some of Marilyn's others like Behind the Green Door and Insatiable. There's plenty of arousing nudity and oral sex, as well as five orgy scenes, but if you're looking for copious on-camera penetration and cum shots, you won't find them here.
The story is quite clever; we begin with Eve as a 12-year-old, experiencing her first sexual encounter with a man — her mom's fifty-something boyfriend to be exact. The scene is simultaneously revolting and exciting with young Eve being eaten out by and giving head to a man with the worst oral hygiene on the planet. Next, we see Eve as an attractive young woman (not yet played by Marilyn) who has a healthy (albeit boring) sex life with her boyfriend, Frank (Matthew Armon). However, one tragic day Eve's pretty face gets mangled in a car accident and when she emerges from her reconstructive surgery she looks even better than before (cause now she's Marilyn Chambers!). The remainder of the film portrays Eve's marriage to Frank and her struggle to become a more sexually liberated woman.
As I said before, what the film lacks in lengthy fuck scenes, it makes up for in five montages of beautiful naked men and women kissing, touching and sucking each other with wild abandon. Resurrection of Eve may not be a balls-to-the-walls gonzo XXX movie, but it's definitely worth a look. - Cherry Honeywell
