SKINOPSISFando y Lis is Alejandro Jodorowsky's first feature length film. The movie is loosely based on a play written by Fernando Arrabal, whom was working with Alejandro Jodorowsky on performance art at the time. The film was done in black and white on the weekends with a small budget. The story of the film follows Fando and his paraplegic girlfriend Lis along a journey to find the mythical city of Tar. When the movie premiered at the 1968 Acapulco film festival, a full scale riot broke out. Could it be because of the live pigs pulled from Lis' vagina? Jodorowsky claims all the blood onscreen was real.El Topo (The Mole) is a 1970 allegorical, cult western movie and underground film, directed by and starring Alejandro Jodorowsky. Characterized by its bizarre characters and occurrences, use of maimed and dwarf performers, and heavy doses of Christian symbolism and Eastern philosophy, the film is about the eponymous character - a violent, black-clad gunfighter - and his quest for enlightenment. We were enlightened by the news that all the sex scenes were real, not staged. Way to commit to your art, Alejandro! The Holy Mountain is a 1973 cult film directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky who also participated as actor, composer, set designer, and costume designer. The film was produced by Beatles manager Allen Klein of ABKCO after Jodorowsky scored an underground phenomenon with El Topo and the acclaim of both John Lennon and George Harrison.
