Erupting from the bowels of Hell comes this highly original, raw and shocking slice of life. Beginning with a corrupt, money-stealing, gambling-addicted cop (Keitel) snorting coke off his dashboard after dropping his two sons off at school, we soon begin a slow, painful journey into a swirling abyss of heroin shooting, crack smoking, hooker humping and countless acts of self-degradation. Looking for redemption, our bad seed of a cop takes on a brutal rape case involving a nun, sending him further into a self-destructive Hades. The vividly realistic screenplay (cowritten by Ms. 45 starlet Zoe Tamerlis) and the gutsy, riveting performance of Keitel combine to make this one of the sleaziest films ever made.
