FROM THE LINER NOTES

Based on a true story, Violet Perfume is a powerful and moving drama about sexual assault among young women in Mexico City. The friendship between two girls, Yessica and Miriam, is tragically ripped apart when one of them is brutally raped. Miriam lives a quiet life with her poor single mother. Rebellious Yessica lives with her dysfunctional family, which includes her stepbrother Jorge. For money, Jorge arranges for a man to trap and rape Yessica. This triggers a descent into a nightmarish ordeal and a chain of events that pulls Miriam into a tragic world where she is no longer in control of her own fate.
