SKINOPSIS

We've been waiting for this one to arrive on DVD forever, and here it is, in a gloriously freeze-framable Criterion collection edition! No price is too high to pay for this amazing footage of Iréne Jacob and her doublegood, doublelife, doublemint tits... plus a bonus flash of her French fur.
REVIEW
Jacob is mesmerizing in dual roles in this beautifully photographed, dream-like exploration of psychic bonds and parallel lives. Jacob plays two women, born at the same time but a thousand miles apart, who are as inextricably bound as Siamese twins. Lush, golden lighting imparts an ethereal sense of myth and fairy tale as Veronique/Veronika searches for an understanding of her pervasive emotional reality. A revelatory inquiry into the transience of human existence and the devastation of loss. (French and Polish with English subtitles)
