Forget Bond. Jason Statham returns as Frank Martin, the stoic super-deliveryman who lives by his own strict set of rules. This sequel amps up the action to near-ludicrous plateaus, losing some of the heart and exotic flavor of the original, but adding a few extra doses of adrenaline. Once the main players are in place, Transporter 2 moves like a rocket. When he finds out he’s being used by a gang of Miami bioterrorists employed by South American drug cartels, Frank races around town in his custom Audi, not letting accepted laws of physics stand in the way of saving the populace from a deadly plague, and more importantly, keeping his promise to a little boy. Hong Kong legend/action director Corey Yuen helps immeasurably by mixing in lots of clever fight choreography. A unique blend of glossy style and serial chapterplay hokeyness makes the Transporter movies tough to resist.
