Mercer (Lou Taylor Pucci) steals a car to escape his small Oregon town and find his older brother after a tragic loss in the family. Once on the road he becomes attached to phone calls from Kate (Zooey Deschanel), the forgiving and mysterious girl who owns the car he stole. With her voice as guidance Mercer travels across the former Wild West to find a new sense of belonging. A crazy trip to Reno with Joely (Jena Malone) and odd encounters with his brother's former friends soon make Mercer realize that everything he's looking for may not be on the road, but on the other end of the phone. With a soundtrack by M. Ward and some other big names in the indie music scene and shot in the beautiful plains of the midwest, The Go-Getter is a road trip about finding love in the strangest of ways.
