REVIEW
Director Smith's follow-up to his witty Clerks is a disappointing but not entirely unentertaining entry into the disaffected youth genre. The action is moved from Hell's shopping strip to Hell's suburban shopping mall, from black and white to color reminiscent of colorization. The film opens as the two central characters, Brodie and T.S. (London, Lee), are dumped by their respective girlfriends Rene and Brandi (Doherty, Forlani). Our protagonists would get on with their lives if they had any. That not being the case, they speed to their local mall, where fate, chance and an odd assortment of henchmen...er, characters (many in exile from Clerks) provide our antiheroes with the means of retribution and reconciliation. The film opens flatly and often feels forced.
