Lynch's dizzying, high-speed, high-energy love story follows the randy exploits of Sailor (Cage) and Lula, aka Peanut (Dern), as they wantonly cruise across the country. Cage and Dern deliver blistering performances as the loopy lovebirds. Oscar-nominee Ladd, Dern's real-life mom, is superb as her screen mom, a nightmarishly alcoholic and emotionally distressed witch who tries to derail the young lovers' romance. Dafoe steals the show with his portrayal of the ultimate "sleazoid," Bobby Peru. Filled with hilarious one-liners, some brutal violence and a lot of sweaty sex, Wild at Heart is an outrageous frolic that's "hotter than Georgia asphalt." Editor's Suggestions
