REVIEW
An erotic, witty and intelligent film adaptation of Milan Kundera's best-selling novel. Set against the backdrop of the Prague Spring of 1968, the story follows a young, womanizing Czech doctor who finds himself caught in the turmoil of the uprising despite his aversion to politics. Day-Lewis, Binoche and Olin all beautifully portray their characters' intertwined relationships against the powerfully evoked background of political upheaval and displacement.
