SKINOPSIS

Naughty necrophilic nudity! Molly Parker stars as a curious young woman who happens to be sexually attracted to youthful, fresh male corpses in this provocative love story. The poetic stripped-down dance around an occupied gurney is pure gratuity and shouldn't be missed.
REVIEW
You would think that a movie about a necrophiliac woman working as an embalmer would be fairly controversial, shocking or at least push some uncomfortable buttons. This may be true with a poorly executed, low-budget horror film like Nekromantik, but it is unfortunately not the case with this glossier production based on a short story from a book of women's erotica. Parker stars as a curious young woman who happens to be sexually attracted to youthful, fresh male corpses. While in embalming school, she meets a med student (Outerbridge) who becomes attracted to her obsession and eventually begins to share her compulsion for cadavers. Fairly tame and placid, the film attempts to explore its subject obliquely, without showing too much in the way of sex and gore. Too bad, because this restraint works against the movie, since the ability of the first-time filmmakers is not up to the challenge of conveying an uncomfortable point without graphically showing it.
