SKINOPSISDennis Hopper stars as a failed farmer in a routine long-term relationship who takes a stab at teaching and meets a younger supremely sexy student. This understated, quietly powerful sleeper about a man's mid-life crisis features nudity by both Amy Irving and Amy Locane. A fully nude Irving serves a nasty, naked Hopper a drink and blonde babe Amy Locane shows her stuff many, many times (including a naked horse ride followed by a roll in the hay).

A low-key but quite involving romance based on the novel "Farmer" by Jim Harrison. Hopper plays a small-town farmer and schoolteacher who can't quite commit to marrying longtime girlfriend Rosealee (Irving). When a young, sexy student (Locane) enters his classroom, his life changes irrevocably. What sounds like a Fatal Attraction rip-off is actually an understated, quietly powerful sleeper about a man's midlife crisis, handled with sensitivity and a minimum of clichés. The ensemble is uniformly good -- Hopper's heartfelt, wholly believable performance is his best in years. Carried Away unfolds with the tempo of a rich novella -- it's not epic in scope but nevertheless creates moments of unexpected joy.
