REVIEW
With sharp dialogue and a disarmingly funny approach to the vagrancies of relationships, this breezy romantic comedy about a woman’s tousled love life captures the intoxicating atmosphere of springtime. Dora (Judith Schell), an attractive and witty 33-year-old blonde, finds the going easier in her career as a playwright than in her love life, especially after she discovers that her fiancé is actually married with kids. Fed up with men and just wanting to be a single mother with no attachments, she is egged on by her best friend to place a classified ad with the stipulation, “Just sex and nothing else.” But the pickings are slim, and her efforts to remain detached are challenged when a series of men, including Ali, a handsome Turkish restaurant worker, and Peter, a geeky composer, attempt to woo her. Things get worse with the arrival of Tamas (Sandor Csanyi), a dark-haired, almost comically self-assured hunk who sets his sights on the fair Dora. A seductive and brainy charmer, Just Sex… offers a remarkably contemporary look at urban Hungarian life and love. (Hungarian with English subtitles) Editor's Suggestions
