FROM THE LINER NOTES
The vivid imagination of Juliusz Machulski (
Sexmission) brings another hilarious satire on Poland's Communist era.
In the basement of a library, where the old card catalogs are stacked, is the kingdom of Shuflandia, where a community of tiny people live. The Big Eater, who controls a potion that can make them grow to a human size, called "king-size", rules them. After The Big Eater rewards a young scientist for his good behavior by making him king-size, the scientist does not want to return to tiny Shufflandia, as he has fallen in love with a beautiful woman.
Filled with absurdist imagery and preposterous ideas, Kingsize makes clever use of its oversize set design and features a wonderful comic performance by Poland's beloved Polish actor Jerzy Stuhr (Kieslowski's Decalogue and White). (Polish with English subtitles)
