FROM THE LINER NOTESWhen Ray Wellman (Assante) gets out of jail on parole, his only thought is to find his ex-lover Lacy (Marcia Gay Harden). When he discovers she's hooked up with successful lawyer Elliot (Sam Neill), Ray appears on their doorstep for a confrontation. He'll do anything to win Lacy back, but Elliot isn't giving up without a fight. Before either one can win her, Lacy is kidnapped by henchmen of the Junkman (Joe Spano), Sam's ruthless prison adversary. To save Lacy's life, Ray has to break parole and commit three crimes for the Junkman-a task which isn't made easier when soft-skinned Elliot insists on tagging along. As the two join forces they follow the Junkman's orders from arson to murder to save Lacy's life, while sharing a bitter rivalry for her love. It's a desperate race against tie as two men join forces outside the law to fight for a cause only one of them can win.Editor's Suggestions
