These Girls

Obviously Boreanaz’s character is written as a male fantasy, although overtones of haplessness and awkwardness are present. The girls aren’t exactly victims either. They seek to materialize their own fantasies without regard for the institutions of marriage and family values. Adultery, illegal drugs, violence and lying are all handled with a light touch and the slightly above average script places it firmly in the indy territory. The solution the girls come up with to gain sexual experience is novel: bond together and work out a schedule to share Keith five nights a week. There are complications, Keith is married, he has a baby daughter at home and he’s a biker dude whose friends are slightly below average in intelligence. It all mixes together in the end to provide a frothy brew of male dependence and female independence.
