Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)

John and Jane Smith (Pitt, Jolie) appear to be in bit of a drought after five-plus years of marriage. Seemingly preoccupied with their disguised corporate lives, both parties are starting to suspect that the other has some sort of secret lifestyle. The obvious suspicion would be an affair; however, the truth is that they both are two of the best hired assassins in the business. And now they've been hired as each others’ target. Truth be told, there is very little plot when it comes to director Liman’s action/comedy, but let’s be honest; is a plot really necessary when you have two of the most beautiful creatures in Hollywood dodging bullets, engaging in outrageous car chases, volleying bon mots at each other and running around with weapons of mass destruction? Pitt and Jolie have pitch-perfect chemistry as the couple and Liman’s action sequences are well-choreographed and accomplished. When it comes to a mindless summer-watching, popcorn-binging, superstar-studded blockbuster, Mr. & Mrs. Smith executes with authority.
