Here’s an awing, surprisingly accessible documentary/ fantasy about quantum physics that weaves scientific and spiritual insight (courtesy of talking head interviews with some of the world’s foremost thinkers and metaphysicists) with colorful bursts of digital animation and the tale of a melancholy woman's (Marlee Matlin) upbeat Alice-in-Wonderland trip down the rabbit hole of life. While not entirely successful at braiding its exuberant new aged mysticism with a somewhat stilted dramatic narrative, What the “Bleep”… is visually splendorous and, at the very least, the film’s big ideas will provide ample food for deep thought about the nature of reality and the infinite possibilities of existence. You may never view the world through the same shallow eyes again!
