REVIEW
Following the same basic plot points as the film it spoofs (Being John Malkovich), Being Ron Jeremy has some funny moments and some that aren’t so funny. Andy Dick provides the lion's share of the successful comedy (a highlight being an ongoing debate between Ron on whether double anal is gay or not). Director/star Brian Berke has a few funny lines in the scenes featuring his boardwalk stand-up routines. However, his performance as struggling-comic Brian Pickles (essentially playing himself) comes off rather bland. Ron Jeremy is the true revelation here. And while he is playing himself, he seems very natural in his role which lends to the legitimacy of the film. The film is too brief to hate, clocking in at a mere 40 minutes but succeeds in providing some laughs. Porn fans will rejoice over the many scenes involving several of the adult industry’s biggest female names. The real treat and time killer here is the bonus features. With deleted scenes, outtakes, exclusive interviews, a behind the scenes with the cast; a feature allowing you to meet the porn stars, a Q&A with Ron dubbed Inside the “Porn Actor’s Studio” and much more - this is clearly the best part of this DVD and a lot of fun.
