Scotty, his best friend and a pair of brother/sister fraternal twins (one-half being "Buffy's" just-blossomed, boobastic little sister, Michelle Trachtenberg) head to Europe for one rude, crude, trashy trek loaded with gratuitous T&A in this hilarious screwball comedy from the twisted, travel-obsessed minds that gave us the cinematic masterpiece, Road Trip.
REVIEW From the deranged minds that spawned Road Trip and Old School comes this very funny screwball comedy that’s a great deal better than expected. With a virtually unknown cast, nonstop laughs, goofball antics and endless sexual innuendos, Eurotrip is probably a greater homage to the boob-heavy teen sex comedies of the 80s than the creators’ previous works. And that’s just fine.
Scotty (Mechlowicz), having just graduated high school and dumped by his super-slutty girlfriend (two-timing poor Scotty with punk rocker Matt Damon, singer of the infectious tune “Scotty Doesn’t Know”), freaks when his German pen pal Mieke (Boehrs) suggests they “arrange a meeting.” Naturally, Scotty learns that this Mieke is actually an extremely hot blonde much too late and it’s a race to Berlin to pledge his love. Along for the ride is the requisite, smart-ass best friend, Cooper and “the world’s worst twins” brother and sister fraternal siblings Jenny (the adorable Trachtenberg) and Jamie. The twins are already Europe-bound for the summer, while Cooper’s sole reason for tagging along, despite obligations to a summer job in the states, is all the “wild European sex.”
Like most movies in this genre, the whys and hows really don’t matter; in fact they just get in the way of the copious jokes, sight gags, and breasts.
Over the course of the foursome’s adventure, our hormone driven heroes encounter violent soccer hooligans, the full-frontal assault of an all-male nude beach, heavy duty S&M sex toy play (look for Lucy Lawless as a merciless Dominatrix), incest, Vatican shenanigans, a Hitler emulating youngster, a homoerotic train ride, the delight of the Eastern European exchange rate and much, much more. Needless to say it’s one rude, crude, trashy trek - but a truly hysterical one at that.
