In this very mild, clichéd horror film, psychiatrist Berry wakes up one morning an inmate; apparently, she hacked up her husband with an ax, but has no memory of doing so. She also has visions of a little girl who's been dead for years. A promising if not terribly original idea is given the typical Dark Castle Productions treatment: traditional "scary" ghosts, hip, nonsensical, "weird" sequences, and decent though uninspired performances from a name cast. Director Kassovitz (La Haine, The Crimson Rivers) does an efficient, anonymous job, and the whole thing moves at a fast clip. It's just not very involving or scary, and suffers from an odious, silly wrap-up (another Dark Castle trait) that renders the whole film unsatisfying.
