Riding the new wave in Mexican cinema, Serrano has directed a heartfelt tale of love, sadness and reawakening. Lucia's husband has just been kidnapped by a band of violent Marxists. With the help of her wise elderly neighbor, Felix, and a nubile young musician, Adrian, Lucia embarks upon a life-changing journey in search of truth, meaning and her missing spouse. Clever editing sequences take the viewer inside Lucia's fertile imagination, while the plot weaves together the lives of disparate characters who share hidden desires and deep losses.
