Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd

A calculated, stillborn, cash-in prequel, Dumberer tells the story of how Lloyd and Harry (Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels from the first film) met and became pals in high school, and how they unwittingly take on their evil principal (Levy). Even with a good supporting cast (Levy, Oteri and "Mr. Show" 's Posehn), there's little to laugh at thanks to sluggish direction and sloppy writing. To his credit, though, Olsen embodies Carrey completely as Lloyd — it's almost eerie at times. Finally, however, Dumberer is too obviously a money-grubbing product — and just not funny.
