Fade to Black: It seems that whenever a high-profile murder makes the national news, someone is quick to blame it on Hollywood. Fade to Black put a literal face on this two decades ago, with Christopher playing a movie freak who loses his grip on reality and starts copying the killers in his favorite films. Ultra-violent and not entirely successful horror flick, but with its right-wing reactionary subtext, still very timely. **½

Hell Night: Linda Blair returns to the horror genre as a college pledge who spends a night in a haunted mansion. She and her fellow students spend an uneventful night there, playing Scrabble, until the sun comes up…not! (Not reviewed)
