REVIEW
A remake of the 1979 Peter Falk-Alan Arkin comedy, but without that original film's considerable charms and laughs. Douglas is a CIA agent who gets his future father-in-law, conservative podiatrist Brooks, involved in all sorts of secret agent tomfoolery. Each actor seems to fit his role, but that's part of the problem -- there's no chemistry between them as they do their individual schtick. Despite a couple genuine laughs, the film has no rhythm to it -- it's merely a collection of skits. A tasteless gay joke that ends the film ruins whatever little good will the film had managed to nuture. You Might Also Like
