FROM THE LINER NOTES

Crime has never been more disorganized than in this outrageous comedy featuring Stacey Dash (Clueless) and hip-hop superstars Jay-Z, Beanie Sigel, Memphis Bleek and Capone-n-Noreaga.

When a rookie crook (Kevin Hart) teams up with some bungling burglars to prove some guys have so much fun… it’s criminal!

REVIEW
From director Dame Dash and Roc-A-Fella films comes this fresh, funny and realistic urban comedy starring the hilarious Kevin Hart. Hart plays Shawn, a young father already on parole and facing a mounting debt. Shawn is taken under the wing of an older thief and he begins robbing houses to make ends meet. Of course, everything that can go wrong does and Shawn soon finds himself in way over his head. With a bumbling crew of incompetent burglar buddies, an incensed girlfriend and the short-tempered neighborhood bully (fittingly played by Beanie Sigel) in his way, Shawn’s pursuit of paper (money) has become anything but easy. As events unfold and tensions build, things reach a boiling point and Shawn is caught between a roc(k) and a hard place.

A realistic and tremendously funny hip-hop flavored street fable, Paper Soldiers is a true revelation. Despite a somewhat low-budget (that actually works in its favor) the performances and dialogue couldn’t be more perfect. Featuring cameos from the likes of Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek, Nore and other rap industry stars, this is Comedy never ceases to entertain. Hart is an unquestionably talented performer with a charisma and delivery that is compelling.
