REVIEW
From its oxymoronic title to its silly metaphysical musings to its slapstick gore scenes, Final Destination 2 is a guilty pleasure, through and through. After a young woman has a premonition of a particularly grisly highway pileup, she convinces some of the drivers involved to stay off the road. Of course, these "survivors" have cheated Death (just like the first film's airline passengers) and are now being picked off one by one in a succession of freak accidents. You've got to be in the right frame of mind to watch this one; that is, you've got to be in the mood to cackle while human beings are sliced, diced, gutted and crushed in the most grisly manner possible. Don't expect anything resembling a screenplay or even an actual movie; still, the direction is crisp, the actors are game, and it flies along like a bat outta hell.
