REVIEW
It may be time to consider retiring Captain Picard and his crew if this fourth "Next Generation" film is any indication of the future of the franchise. While it's always nice to see the entire cast together again voyaging on the Enterprise, their mission fails to fully excite. Nemesis pits Picard against his evil clone Shinzon (Hardy), who has joined forces with a renegade group of Romulans. As Picard comes face to face with his darker side, the rest of the gang ready for a galactic showdown to determine the fate of the universe. Director Baird supplies competent action sequences, and the Picard/Shinzon face/off is quite entertaining, but the film lacks a good story and isn't quite as fun as it should be -- a sign that this series is in need of either a transfusion or its plug pulled. --David Bleiler
