REVIEW
Director Beck imbues a nice sense of atmosphere in the opening moments of Ghost Ship, when the passengers and crew of a Russian ocean liner all meet a gruesome fate. The clichés start to pile up, however, when a motley group of salvagers -- led by Byrne -- discover the long-dead floating behemoth, and one by one meet their doom in a variety of not-so-ingenious ways. The cast brings more depth to their roles than is deserving of this dead-in-the-water story, which gets sillier and sillier as the film progresses. --David Bleiler
