SKINOPSIS

Charlotte Brittain displays some great nudity in this movie about lady Sumo wrestlers in England.
REVIEW
Female sumo wrestling in industrial Yorkshire might seem incongruous, but it's all a natural pastime in this cheerful romantic comedy by Kimmel. Pleasantly plump 20-year-old Daisy (Brittain of Get Real) is the newly wedded bride of Ken (Ross, Secrets and Lies), her handsome husband who absolutely adores her. But job difficulties keep them on the dole, and money worries create tension. That is, until Daisy begins work at a factory, strangely filed by large (very large) women. There she learns that the women are obsessive participants in a secret passion -- the philosophy and sport of sumo wrestling. But while Daisy becomes interested in their ritualistic knockabouts headed by Marlene (Badland, Little Voice), hubby Ken has an idea for making a quick quid -- photographing and then selling tastefully nude pictures of Daisy. But with Daisy out of the house more and more, Ken becomes suspicious, even to the point of suspecting that she's been brainwashed by aliens. His attempt at 'rescuing' her is only met with 'heavy' resistance. Daisy quits the club to nurse her bruised Ken back to health, but when her teammates engage in a real sumo match with male Japanese wrestlers, and they need her help, she must make a decision. An endearingly eccentric comedy starring fat women who not only accept their bodies but put them to good use!
