REVIEW
The fact that Liberty is actually Fiorentino's gun-manufacturing-magnate character's name, and she must not move from her spot in a public park or an unseen sniper will kill her (with one of her company's top-sellers, to boot), should tip you off to how subtle this film is. Despite its heavy-handedness, however, it does have a decent, pulpy premise (nearly identical to the Larry Cohen-scripted Phone Booth), and a good, marquee-friendly cast, though it never becomes the smart diatribe on gun control it so wants to be. Several suspenseful sequences and excellent turns by Fiorentino and Snipes nearly compensate for an unsatisfying wrap-up and a plot hole or two.
