REVIEW
This corny sequel to John Carpenter's Vampires follows another band of Catholic Church-sponsored vampire hunters as they hunt a female vampire this time. That's about it for inventiveness in this lame, uninvolving waste of time. A couple of good early moments are squandered as the film becomes duller and duller as it progresses. The first film's engaging, un-PC nastiness is traded in for an extremely tame, almost genteel tone; the difference between the two films is nowhere more apparent than in its casting — instead of the terrific, feral James Woods, we get the epitome-of-bland, Jon Bon Jovi. We're also saddled with the cute but spectacularly untalented Wagner, to boot. Director Wallace is a former protégé of Carpenter's (he was also behind the stupid but entertaining Halloween III), but displays none of his mentor's abilities in this tired outing.
