REVIEW
Snoop Dogg plays Jimmy "Bones," a 70s gangsta who is betrayed, killed and buried in an abandoned hotel. Twenty years later, some kids buy the place to turn into a nightclub. Unfortunately for them, Bones wants revenge, and he wants it bloody. An oddball horror film, Bones is a hodgepodge of genres, grabbing elements of everything from Italian horror and blaxploitation to slapstick and urban drama. Dickerson knows his horror (with homages to Hellraiser and Suspiria, among others), and the film is stylish enough; but ultimately it's also pointless, even for a horror flick. The genre-blending keeps it watchable for a while, but two-thirds through, these become some tired old Bones.
