REVIEW This repugnant swill shouldn't appeal to anyone except those looking for some cheap beefcake. A moronic retelling of the James/Younger Gang story, American Outlaws has little basis in historical fact (Jesse is a beacon of virtue in this rendition!) and seems to drag on forever, despite short running time. The story has to do with Jesse and his gang protecting a group of farmers against corrupt railroad barons. Western fans will especially find the whole thing reprehensible; in fact, if you've ever seen a western before, any western, you can safely skip American Outlaws, because you've seen it all before, only better. Dalton, Yulin and O'Quinn add some much needed dignity to the proceedings, but Farrell (so good and charismatic in Tigerland) here seems bland and dull.
