REVIEW
Teenager Sobieski and her younger brother are taken in by kindly friends (Skarsgård and Lane) of the family after their parents are killed in a car accident. However, clue after obvious clue leads Sobieski to think maybe her surrogate folks aren't as kindly as they seem. A numbingly predictable thriller, The Glass House is watchable for a while, mainly due to decent performances, but the pointlessness and familiarity soon breed contempt. The kind of trash that asks us to cluck our tongues disapprovingly when Skarsgård acts even slightly lecherous towards Sobieski, while the filmmakers insist she wear tight, skimpy clothes at every opportunity -- the better for us to hypocritically ogle her. --Dean Galanis
