REVIEW
A brother and sister, driving down a rural road on the way home from college, spot a sinister dude shoving what looks to be bloody bodies down a sewage pipe in his back yard. Naturally, they decide to go back and investigate. Character motivation is a big problem in this movie, as the kids do some truly moronic things to move the plot along (and just because they acknowledge this fact in some Scream-like, postmodern observations, doesn't make it any more plausible). Director Salva also resorts to the old "the-car-won't-start!" trope a few times too many. Despite these flaws, Jeepers Creepers has some very creepy moments, is rather atmospheric, and has a surprisingly bleak (and very effective) ending. Worthwhile for horror fans willing to look beyond its lack of logic. (Sequel: Jeepers Creepers 2) --Dean Galanis
