About Adam

Love 'em and leave 'em Lucy (Hudson, sporting a serviceable Irish accent) falls hard for charmer Adam (Townsend), and wedding bells seem to be in their future. It turns out, however, that Lucy isn't the only member of her family smitten with the lad -- and he's more than willing to reciprocate their desire. Off-putting and clunky, About Adam is salvaged somewhat by its performances: Townsend, despite his secretive betrayals, remains likable throughout, and Hudson and O'Connor fare well with rather unappealing characters. A snappier pace, wittier script, and a good half-hour lost, however, would have gone a long way in making this film more palatable.
