A dorky young boy is humiliated at a middle school Valentine's Day dance, and ten years later, girls involved in the incident start turning up dead. This by-the-numbers horror film will be fun for a while for fans of '80s slasher fare precisely because it apes the formula so strictly. Soon, however, the poor acting, insulting caricatures and lack of suspense/scares wear one's nostalgic glow down into contempt. To top it off, the usually reliable "killer explains all and dies horribly" ending is a complete bust. Catch seminal '80s holiday slasher My Bloody Valentine instead.
