A strained, tired farce, Say It Isn't So offers more bawdy foolishness from the producers of There’s Something about Mary, grafted onto a semi-sweet romantic melodrama. Likable orphan hunk (Klein) falls deliriously in love with angelic chick (Graham) ... who turns out to his long-lost sister. Field camps it up as Graham’s money-hungry trailer-trash mama, whose scheme for her daughter to marry a cute millionaire scumbag necessitates all sorts of connivery against hapless Klein. Here you’ll find crude incest humor and merciless jibes at the disabled and deformed (mutilation and physical handicaps are recurring motifs). Most of the laughs have the discernable whiff of previous Farrelly Brothers movie moments.
