REVIEW
A refreshing look at men's fear of intimacy, The Brothers is an intelligent, character-driven comedy that lays down the accepted truths about the sexes and then calls their bluff. A torrent of real feelings flow from a group of four friends experiencing similar "issues" in their relationships. One will never settle down (Bellamy), one is reforming his wild ways (Moore), one is semi-happily married (Hughley), and, at the center of the film is a man (the butter-smooth Chestnut) trying to overcome his fears and let love in. Director Hardwick "keeps it real," knowing that the truth may be bitter, but in this sweet package, it's remarkably easy to swallow.
