REVIEW Or, The Powerpuff Girls: 20 Years Later. Except for that omnipresent speakerphone, you'd never know this was based on the TV show, and unlike the many TV adaptation bombs, Charlie's Angels is remarkably unforced and damn fun. Hey, you've got Cameron Diaz dancing in her Underoos, why not let the scene linger a little? The sweet ditzy blond (Diaz), the bad red-headed grrl (Barrymore) and the brainy brunette (Liu) all know how to use their hair and their kung-fu to fight crime on behalf of benevolent Charlie. They get Hong Kong-style showdowns with plenty of wirework, in a serviceable and self-aware plot that doesn't get in the way of the girl power and T&A (an effective mix, pleasing to all sexes and orientations). McG knows it's cheesy, but the Angels don't, and that makes them even more charming. A rare case of the cast and crew's fun spilling onto the screen, these Angels are an infectious if lightweight delight.
