Sometimes stunt casting works, as in this film which features the Keach Brothers as the outlaws The James Brothers; the Carradine Brothers as The Younger Brothers; the Quaid Brothers as the brothers Miller; and the Guest Brothers as the Fords. Director Hill captures the melancholy in the passing of the Old West, while not ignoring the shoot-outs and chases as The James Gang face the penalty for one withdrawal too many.
