SKINOPSIS

Snubbed by many as Showgirls without the nudity, hopefully this unrated extended version has a little something of what we want to see! Small-town girl Piper Perabo heads to NYC to become a superstar but winds up at a local bar wearing skimpy clothing and serving horny men drinks with gal pals Tyra Banks and Maria Bello. The Unrated Extended cut DVD boasts a breast baring scene from Piper Perabo body double Laura Grady (Human Nature).

REVIEW
A young waitress (Perabo) leaves her small Jersey town behind to pursue her dreams of a songwriting career in the Big Apple. Sadly, she is shocked to find that the big city is cold and heartless, and she's forced to take a job at the title bar, where she must wear skimpy clothes and serve horny men drinks. Surprisingly retro (in the worst sense), this film plays its Horatio Alger story line straight -- this is a squeaky-clean movie, with not a whiff of nudity or sexuality (contrary to the impression the trailers leave, Coyote Ugly is not a strip club). It plays like Showgirls remade as an Afterschool Special -- only it's not even as fun as that might sound. Coyote Ugly is ragingly artificial, predictable and annoying, with Goodman providing the only glimpse at recognizable human behavior. Possibly producer Jerry Bruckheimer's worst, and that's saying something.
