REVIEW
The Crow was expected to be Lee's breakout film. Instead, he was killed on the set. He was 28. Ironically, his father, Bruce Lee, also died at an early age when his film career was expected to explode. The film itself is almost overshadowed by these events, but stands on its own as an entertaining actioner with a driving love story. In a darkly luminous, decaying inner city, Lee and his fiancée are brutally murdererd for standing up to a slimy urban developer. Lee emerges from his grave after a year's regeneration, seeking vengeance to gain his final peace. Lee exhibits an engaging screen presence in this well-paced, starkly shot neo-noir. His future work would have been eagerly anticipated.
