Through his retelling of Boris Pasternak's novel of the Russian Revolution, Lean succeeds in creating both a mammoth spectacle and an impressive and absorbing account of one of the most fascinating and important periods in human history. An incredible ensemble is headed by the exceptional Christie and handsome Omar, with Steiger and Courtenay excelling among the fine ensemble cast.
