REVIEW
Though it's nothing to Scream about, this derivative slasher horror flick does provide a scare or two, but it breaks no new ground and it's really nothing we haven't seen before. Set in coastal North Carolina (where it seems no one has native accents), the story follows the consequences when four teens run over a man on a dark road after a drunken 4th of July celebration. Deciding to dump the body rather than face the law, they make a pact not to talk about it again and go their separate ways. However, a year later, when one of them gets a note repeating the film's title, strange occurrences begin and then bodies start piling up. The screenplay is less concerned with plot twists and red herrings and concentrates more on dark shadows and fish hooks gutting young teens. An adequate cast is highlighted by Heche as the country bumpkin sister of the victim. (Sequel: I Still Know What You Did Last Summer)
