Mel and Danny are back, and as the old movie ads used to say, they're bigger and better than ever. As in the original, Gibson and Glover have redefined the genre with a spontaneous, fresh repartee which is as entertaining as it is humorous. Plot really takes a back seat to the fast, frantic action scenes and the delectable rapport between the two stars. But for the record, Roger and Martin find themselves up against a ruthless South African diplomat, who happens to be a part-time drug dealer. Pesci does the impossible by stealing the show as a loquacious, ingratiating accountant being protected by Mel and Danny.
