REVIEW
Keaton gets cloned and essentially plays with himself in this amiable though lackluster comedy whose cute premise is never fully realized. Keaton plays a harried construction foreman who doesn't have enough hours in the day for his professional or private lives. After a chance meeting with a scientist, Keaton is cloned, enabling the original to spend more quality time with the wife (MacDowell) and kids while the "xerox copy" shows up at work. In time, there are four Keatons running around on the screen, engaging in predictable shenanigans. The special effects are terrific, and Keaton creates distinct personalities for his four "Dougs." But the screenplay doesn't come close to the film's F/X wizardry, and the laugh quotient is surprisingly low.
